The Word of God and Metaphors-Hebrews 4: 12-13

Metaphors used in the bible can tickle our minds. They help us to remember the powerful points made in the scripture. But what is a metaphor.

A metaphor compares¬† two unlike things using the verb “to be” and not using like or as as in a simile.¬† For example, if I say my love for ice cream is like a shoppers love for clothes that would be a simile. But if I say my new figure is an ice cream cone then that would be a metaphor.

Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

13And not a creature exists that is concealed from His sight, but all things are open and exposed, naked and defenseless to the eyes of Him with Whom we have to do.

Did you know that God likes coffee?
No I did not. Why do you say that.

    Because he brews.

Thanks for sharing the imagery of metaphors in the word.
